The brain child of Michael Schmidt a classically trained musician and conductor, and owner of Glencolton Farms near Collingwood, Symphony in the Barn has its origin in the Saugeen Bach Choir and Musical Society founded by Michael ten years earlier with the aim of bringing his love of classical music to the rural communities of western Ontario. |

This summer we had the pleasure of staying at the Dr. James Gun Inn, a charming century home, located in the centre of the town of Durham. Emigrating from Scotland, Dr. Gun had the home built as his personal residence. Boasting large principal rooms, the home has a graceful elegance, surrounded by stately trees, lawns and gardens and backs onto the beautiful Saugeen river. |

Michael and Nobuyo Stadtlander A couple of weeks ago Deborah and I had dinner at Michael Stadtlander's Eigensinn Farm. We had heard so much about the farm but we had never spoken to anyone who had actually eaten there. I was curious to eat at a restarurant that had been ranked 9th best in the world by London based "Restaurant" magazine. |
