Sicilian Food, Wine & Cycling Tour

From Toronto we arrive in Catania on the eastern shore of Sicily. We travel by luxury motorcoach to the sea side village of Santa Tecla at the base of Mount Etna were we stay at the luxurious Santa Tecla Palace hotel.

Bicycles assembled and tuned, we ride north along the eastern coast road to visit the charming seaside villages of Giardini-Naxos, Taormina and Messina. Turning west we ride to Milazzo, Capo d'Orlando, Cefalu, Palermo and Castellammare del Golfo. From Castellammare del Golfa guests guests on head south to Trapani and Marsala and west along the southern coast to visit Sciacca, Agrigento and Pozzallo. Turning north we pass through Avola, Siracusa, Augusta and finally arrive back in Catania. We will cover a total distance of approximately 1000 km. We will ride about 75 - 80 km each day of the trip.
Luggage will be transferred daily on our air conditioned "Giro di Sicilia" mini bus. Riding will occur mainly in the morning between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, with afternoons free to visit the local wine and food producers or to go sight seeing at sights close to our hotel. For those dedicated cyclers afternoon rides or longer daytime rides will be arranged.
